Jag undersökte den låga användningen av unit testing inom programmeringsspråksbaserad Infrastructure as Code (PL-IaC), med särskilt fokus på Pulumi .NET. Jag började med att analysera utvecklar-rapporterade problem för att identifiera de främsta hindren för testning. Utifrån dessa insikter designade och implementerade jag Pulumock, ett verktyg designat för att förbättra testupplevelsen inom Pulumi .NET. Verktyget utvärderades genom en within-subjects-studie, som visade på förbättrad upplevd användbarhet och underhållsbarhet jämfört med Pulumis standardramverk för testning. Projektet bidrar till en djupare förståelse för testbarhet inom PL-IaC och erbjuder en praktisk lösning för att främja mer tillförlitlig utveckling av infrastruktur.

For the final project, I investigated the low adoption of unit testing in Programming Language-based Infrastructure as Code (PL-IaC), focusing specifically on Pulumi .NET. The project involved mining and analyzing developer-reported issues to identify key barriers to testing. Based on these insights, I designed and implemented Pulumock, a tool aimed at improving the testing experience in Pulumi .NET. The tool was evaluated through a within-subjects study, which showed improved perceived adoptability and maintainability compared to Pulumi’s default testing framework. This project contributes to a deeper understanding of testability in PL-IaC and offers a practical solution to promote more reliable infrastructure development.

Denna kurs fokuserade på att skapa erfarenhet och trygghet i att utveckla praktiska applikationer och funktionalitet inom datateknik. I slutprojektet utvecklade jag en Infrastructure as Code (IaC) template suite för att automatisera skapandet av säkra, credential-free workload identiteter i Microsoft Azure. Genom att använda Pulumi och C# .NET löser projektet utmaningar kopplade till manuell konfiguration och långlivade autentiseringsuppgifter. Lösningen implementerar Managed Identities för interna workloads och Federated Identity Credentials för externa workloads, vilket förbättrar driftseffektivitet, säkerhet och skalbarhet i molnmiljöer.

This course focused on gaining experience and confidence in developing practical applications and functionality within computer engineering. A key aspect was also training in following a structured project model. Throughout the course, I worked on various stages of the software development process, including project proposals, Software Requirement Specifications (SRS), implementation, documentation, testing, and deployment. For the final project, I developed an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) template suite to automate the provisioning of secure, credential-free workload identities in Microsoft Azure. Utilizing Pulumi and C# .NET, this project addressed the challenges of manual configuration and long-lived credentials by implementing Managed Identities for internal workloads and Federated Identity Credentials for external workloads. The solution enhances operational efficiency, security, and scalability within cloud environments.

In this course, I explored artificial intelligence with an emphasis on intelligent problem-solving agents. The curriculum included search strategies, constraint satisfaction problems, adversarial search, and two-player zero-sum games. As part of the coursework, I developed an Octi agent in Java, incorporating Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) and a utility function for heuristic-based optimal moves, which participated in an Octi tournament.

In this course, I have developed skills in scientific methodology and academic writing, including exploring research trends in computer science, analyzing scientific literature, and adhering to guidelines for conducting and reporting research. As part of the course, I conducted a focused study on hybrid search, combining semantic and keyword-based search, and implemented a custom solution, which is available on GitHub. In addition, the course covered statistics, including formulating hypotheses, understanding significance levels, comparing two means, analyzing correlations, and other foundational statistical methods. I implemented these techniques in R and applied them in my research.

Jag genomförde marknadsundersökningar, konkurrentanalyser och affärsomvärldsanalyser samt använde litteratur för att utveckla strategier för positionering, marknadsföring och mycket mer, så att företaget skulle kunna lyckas i verkligheten. Jag planerade även företagets ekonomi genom försäljningsprognoser, resultaträkning och likviditetsbudgetar.

In this course, I created a business plan for a fictitious company called Bråttom.se, a digital platform that connects buyers and sellers of fast services. The platform prioritizes time efficiency through a specialized search engine and streamlines the purchasing process and administrative tasks with digital tools. I did market research, competitor analysis, business environment analysis and used literature to develop strategies for positioning, marketing and much more so that the company could succeed in reality. I also planned the company's finances with sales forecasts, profit budget and liquidity budgets.

In addition, I work with identity and access management, observability systems, as well as both backend and frontend development. As a System Developer at Avarda, a firm focused on white label payment solutions, I was part of a scrum team that mainly concentrated on the back-end development within a microservices architecture. We utilized a range of technologies and methodologies, including C# .NET, SQL Server, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Pulumi, and more.  I took the lead on two significant projects, both of which involved building microservices from the ground up. One project aimed to identify and block customers exhibiting unhealthy return patterns, and the other facilitated the transfer of data from a third-party service to an internal message broker for consumption by other microservices. Additionally, I played a crucial role in refactoring a shipping broker microservice to accommodate multiple new brokers, as it was initially tightly integrated with a specific shipping broker.  Beyond my core duties, I actively contributed to various aspects of the company, held many presentations in our knowledge-sharing sessions, and introduced a coding dojo.
